Simon Gaywood speaks ahead of tonight’s National Crit Champs
”The last time the Nationals were held at Otley I was fortunate to be on the winning team with James McCallum in 2007. It was a great night and I’d love to have that experience again with myself, or one of the boys.
It’s been up and down with my preparation, but I’m always excited and confident going into the crit champs, and ready to G up all the lads. I believe this team can come out with a big result tonight.
Otley is an awesome race, but not your typical crit circuit. It’s got quite a long drag/climb and mega fast descent into the finish, if there’s a group going into the finish it can be won or lost through the last corner, Dean Downing can vouch for that!
The organisers always put on a great show, the crowds are up for a good night and always quite vocal and it seems summer may have arrived for today only so all I can say is BRING IT ON…
IG Sigma Sport Team for tonight are:
Simon Gaywood, Tom Murray, Simon Richardson, Steve Lampier, Andrew Griffiths, Jake Hales and Tom Last
